A Surefire Way to Mess Up your Relationship
March 12, 2007
Ever had one of those moments when part of your brain is screaming at you to keep your mouth shut and you open it anyways and say something completely, utterly, and undeniably stupid & hurtful to the one you love? And then, to make matters worse, you do it several times, even though you KNOW you’re making things worse and you KNOW you’re wrong but are too (fill in the blank) to admit it?
That was my weekend.
Today I feel like an utter heel, and would be very happy to kick my own heinie for being so shortsighted and for using stress/exhaustion/fill-in-the-blank for my lousy behavior. Time to make amends…

Um.. now that i think about it, it probably describes my life too! The saying is live and learn, but I’m not too good on the learning part…
I think things will get better now - it’s always good to get things out in the open and deal with them, right?
Thanks for the the well wishes

i used to have those brain fart moments where i knew it was the wrong thing to say even as it was coming out of my mouth. it’s like the words would completely bypass the brain and come out on their own.

it’s almost 3am. i’ve just had “a sure fire way to mess up your relationship” fight with by significant other.
He is pleasantly sleeping in our bedroom, while I am crying while eating a very large cinnamon bun with a large dole of butter on each bite. Surprisingly, that made me feel a lot better.
