Remember those new sheets I mentioned last week? The ones I fell hard for because of their lovely texture? Since then I’ve found another reason to love them – the squiggles on them remind me of the squiggle used so often in comics as a way to denote crankiness and frustration above a character’s head. So now they’re the cranky squiggle sheets, which causes me to giggle to no end as I keep thinking of the Mr. Men books…
Mulder, the Yowler of Yaletown, has decided he likes them too. His new favourite spot is atop the extra pillow, just above my head. Since my pillow rests on the extra, I’ve been treated to a vibrating pillow for the last few nights.
As I was settling in for a rest last night, I felt his furry presence on the bed (which really, isn’t that difficult, considering he weighs 16 – 17 lbs and is the size of a small dog, only with less yap and more attitude). He made straight for the pillow above my head, stepping over me in the process. So much for respect! This morning he was stretched out in all his feline glory, lolling on the pillow, sharing his early-morning kitty breath. I will get a photo to share, on some morning when I’m not as bleary as I was today.
Sadly, Lunchtruck isn’t feeling well. The sniffle he picked up on the island has developed into a cold, and he’s sick enough to be at home today, for the second day in a row. There must be some deeply embedded programming there, because I kept waking up to check on him, just like every other time he’s been ill. I actually feel bad that I’m not at home today to make him chicken soup and tea, but at least I got to tuck him in before I left the apartment today. Hopefully the cats will keep him company and help him get well.
Your turn: How do you deal with illness - is it different if its your or someone else’s?

feel better lunchtruck…
I have such a vivid picture of your sheets. Hoping that lunch truck feels better soon. I’ve tagged you for a meme – as part of my TT this week.
When I get sick I sleep ALOT; refrain from drinking heavily (no more afternoon alcoholic!); jones for chicken soup (because inevitably when I get ill I don’t have any in the house & am to lazy to go to the supermarket to get any); fell sorry for myself & snivel under the sheets…you pretty much get the idea.
I hope Lunchtruck gets better soon!
