Thursday Thirteen #30: Alphabetical Pleasures (Part Deux)

I started this list at the beginning of the month and then got distracted. It happens a lot. For part one, go here.

• N is for Nutella, to which I’m hopelessly addicted. Halzelnut and chocolate. Yum!

• O is for Owen. Think Clive. (Yes, that gets a ‘Yum!” too).

• P is for Photography & Publishing, both areas that fascinate and frustrate me. I’ve been neglectful of the first, busy with the second… but how to turn interest into career?

• Q is for Q’s Legacy, a Helene Hanff treasure I didn’t even know about, which reveals the backstory to her most famous story 84, Charing Cross Road. I’ve borrowed it from the library twice this year and need to get my own copy.

• R is for Red, (favourite shade cherry), on MG’s, tulips and toenails, it’s guaranteed to make me smile.

• S is for Strawberries, particularly the local ones. Small, deep red and juicy, they’re best when they’re sun-warmed. It’s also for Seuss, as in Dr.

• T is for Tea (a mild obsession). I know Vancouver is a ‘coffee’ city, but I find the tea culture here is just as strong, and the tea house idea is spreading.

• U is for the Uvula, a word that just makes me laugh. Don’t ask why, I’ve no answer for you.

• V is for Vintage – cars, clothes and jewels, architecture and design – I have a love for things with a history.

• W is for Writing Paper. In an age where a trip to the mailbox is no longer a highlight, I long to find a handwritten letter on  smooth good quality paper. Written in fountain pen? Even better.

• X is for X-Files,  filmed in Vancouver. Mulder (the feline), was named during it’s run.

• Y is for Yes! – a word that needs to be said more often, more enthusiastically, to more possibilities.

• Z is for Zest, as in lemons and life. I can always use more of both in my life
