I’m just a little bit in love with this yarn. Knit up in a basic rib stitch, it feels sooooo good. I’m going to have a difficult time giving it up to my darlin’ little sis Shu*.
No link today. I know, I’m really bad at this.
* Not her real name, who’d name their kid Shu?

Have spent the evening at Stanley Park, taking in the Bright Nights sights. Report tomorrow, along with photos.
No linky today. Need to defrost.

Today, we let Mitzi have a break and stay home while Ironhead and I braved the snowfall.
See, I had learned something important: even in Vancouver, you need to own a decent pair of boots. Which I didn’t. Our walk to the downtown core happened in my beloved purple cons, shoes most definitely NOT designed for [...]

The cold snap is continuing in Vancouver, and the news reports are filled with weather-related news. I’ve been battling a cold, and today I watched this again and had to share it. It has me wondering – what else can I be doing?
**Today the link leads to Swissmiss, who drew my [...]

Fail, fail, not quite epic, but still… fail.
This is what was running through my mind as I tried for the umpteenth time to write yesterday. I really, truly had nothing to put out there.
Sadly, you can’t blog silence.
This morning I caught myself turning that moment in my mind and wondering how to balance out the [...]

I’m starting to panic a little.
I don’t think I’m a slow knitter, but lately my wrist has been bugging me a little so I’ve been babying it and not knitting daily. My pace has slowed considerably. This isn’t a good thing; I have three Christmas presents to get through and am only part of the [...]
Snow Day, Part Deux

There are days when I really do enjoy this city.
Today was one of those days.
This photo was taken from Mitzi (our little yellow Smart Car) as we took part in the first ever Smart Car Christmas Rally. If you saw a dozen or so little Smarts zipping around UBC, Kits and Kerrisdale today – I [...]

Oh, I’m really, really bad at this posting thing.
Earlier today I went to Portobello West with Ironhead to check out the goodies and visit with our friend VolcanoGirl (she of the fabulous hand-painted ties). I also got to finally see, in person, the wonderful work of an old schoolmate.
I came home thinking I’d post about [...]

Instead of posting like a good little blogger, I went to my office Christmas party last night.
I danced a lot.
I drank a little booze.
And then I drank a lot of water.
This morning, I live and am disgustingly chipper.
In other news, I found out that I missed Amanda Palmer earlier this week, which now makes it [...]

Ahem. Today’s post? Is me being Ranty McRantypants. (On a soapbox, ’cause I’m short).
My goal this month boils down to a single word: Happy. As in be happy, feel happy, spread the happy round, possibly even instigate joy.
But you folks out there who think it’s perfectly okay to treat retail sales workers like lowly minions [...]
